2022年3月25日 · BNSF 6111, ES44AC, handled the Lincoln, Nebraska, to Denver, CO, train with 25th Anniversary unit up front. Herders (hostlers) took power off the train and over to the Denver Locomotive Shop for servicing on a delightful Spring day 25 March 2022.

BNSF 6111 is one of the ten BNSF 25th Anniversary units adorned with “sticker” heralds of predecessor roads on the long hood, and one of the three that I hadn’t yet shot. After a heads up this morning (thank you!), I managed to partially remedy that deficiency in Cajon Pass as 6111 led an ALTSBD westbound in decent morning light.

BNSF has sold SD-9 6111, ex-Colorado & Southern 828 (assigned many years to Leadville, CO), to National Railway Equipment (NRE) as of August 31, 2005. BNSF 6111 was to move (if not already there) to Silvis, IL.
