Great Northern 558 & Soo Line 559 in the yard of MTM. The 558 is a brand new acquisition thanks to Cargill and BNSF. The real MNTX 6234 is an SD9, but when MTM acquired an SD7, it was an easy fix to borrow one of its own numbers for BNSF transport. Inside the cab of a GN SD7, hardly changed since built.

The EMD SD7 is a model of 6-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between May 1951 and November 1953. It had an EMD 567B 16- cylinder engine producing 1,500 horsepower (1.12 MW) for its six traction motors.

2009年9月15日 · According to the website greatnorthernempire.net The GN rostered 23 SD7’s they were # 550-572. the website even gives what paint scheme each wore, and gives the disposition to the second change after leaving BN/BNSF, two units still show as in active service as of the most recent update.

GN 558 is an original-condition "Special Duty" six-motor version of EMD's popular GP7 Road Switcher. Designed for either heavy pulling duties or for navigating flimsy branch lines, the SD7 sold first and best in the upper Midwest. Leader EMD was actually last to market.

2023年9月12日 · My club has a couple of SD7/9s that are technically numbered, but in such a way that actually finding the road number on the locomotive is a total Where's Waldo puzzle. I'll have to check which road names they are this week. 308GTSi and BNSF FAN like this. Years ago Kato would release unnumbered locomotives. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?
