The BOV-M15 is an armored combat vehicle created from a significant modernization and modification of the BOV-VP (better known as the BOV-M86). This armored vehicle is mainly intended for all types of police, such as the Military Police, Gendarmerie and other types of MUP. The BOV-M15 is primarily designed to perform both police and military tasks.

BOV-M15 je borbeno oklopno vozilo nastalo na značajnijoj modernizaciji i modifikaciji BOV-VP (poznatiji kao BOV-M86). Ovo oklopno vozilo je uglavnom namenjeno svim rodovima policije, poput Vojne policije, Žandarmerije i ostalim rodovima MUP-a.

Several designations were used, making the whole type more confusing: -BOV VP: Armored Perosnal Carrier, main JNA APC. -BOV M: Vehicles assigned to the former Yugoslavian militia. -M-86: Official army designation. All three were developed as practically the same vehicle without significant differences.
