The BSA B44 was a series of 441 cc (26.9 cu in) unit construction single-cylinder OHV four-stroke motorcycles made by the Birmingham Small Arms Company between 1966 and 1970. [1] The machines were developed from the BSA World Championship Motocross machines, which were themselves based on the C15 / B40 .

B44 Victor GP. On the strength of Jeff Smith’s two World Championship, BSA introduced a replica at the 1965 Earls Court Motorcycle Show, the B44 Victor GP. The model was discontinued in 1967 and around 500 GPs were produced in total.

This is a genuine BSA B44 Victor GP which left the BSA factory in October 1965 some months before the production models were available to the public. the frame is nickel plated but has been painted black. this would suggest it may have been an early works bike before being sold through Comerfords of Thames Ditton.

All B44 engine production for the 1966 season (GP and E) shares one numbering sequence from B44 101 upward, production beginning in 9/65. Engines are stamped/numbered at or during engine assembly and are built to either GP or Enduro specification.

The GP victors where to be released to the Public in January 1966. Bike 101 was fitted with a number of engines to show new updates the last engine being being an enduro engine. B44. prefix followed by number GP Victor.
