2008年4月17日 · We have shown that the HIV-1 Vpu protein downregulates the interferon-induced cellular protein BST-2/HM1.24/CD317 from cell surfaces. BST-2 is a potent inhibitor of HIV-1 virion release, and it appears both sufficient to confer vpu-dependent virion release to HEK293 cells and necessary for a robust vpu phenotype in HeLa cells.
