Fiend Folio has the coolest monsters, but all three are incredibly gamable. Fire on the Velvet Horizon is the most creative and interesting collection of monsters I've ever seen. Every one is an adventure starter. If you dig around G+ and the internet at large, you can find several modern takes on WotC copyrighted monsters.

2023年1月13日 · Volume 1 of the BX Advanced Bestiary takes the monster entries A-D from the OSE Basic book and expands them with options, added details, use for monster parts, additional monsters, and playable classes based upon the same theme.

2021年5月5日 · Tome of Horrors Complete, Random Esoteric Creature Generator, and The Monster Alphabet are well worth having. ToHC is a huge collection of monsters, RECG is useful for generating random weirdnesses, and TMA is useful in spicing up monsters.

2022年7月28日 · IIRC The Creature Compendium is/was effectively the 1e Monster Manual, but for B/X. The Rules Cyclopeedia has one of the most exhaustive Basic game monster manual chapters anywhere. Try the B/X Monster Reference . Pretty comprehensive list of critters. The 2e MM is awesome, and the only difference would be treasure and morale (2d10 instead of 2d6)

From efreet to killer bee, this book takes a look at each monster from OSE/BX, examines alternate rules and options, provides some suggestions for variants as well as magical items that can be created from the creatures' remains, and introduces 3-4 new monsters per category based upon the monster's theme.
