While attending AFROTC training at Loring AFB, I managed to sneak in a day of railfanning, and found brand new GP-38 #82 at Caribou, ME. IIRC the BAR had assembled a fleet of about 15 or 16 rundown GP38s, some were bought new, others were ex-PC, PRSL, and Mopac. Were all of these units processed through the sale/leaseback deal that resulted in the new 300-series numbers?
