K-edge - Wikipedia
In X-ray absorption spectroscopy, the K-edge is a sudden increase in x-ray absorption occurring when the energy of the X-rays is just above the binding energy of the innermost electron shell of the atoms interacting with the photons. The term is based on X-ray notation, where the innermost electron shell is known as the K-shell.

2013年7月9日 · The Be K-edge excitations (symbols) and corresponding absorption spectrum (line) at the edge are shown for (a) BeO, (b) BeS, (c) BeSe and (d) BeTe. In the case of BeO the components both orthogonal (red boxes, full line) and parallel (blue circles, dashed blue line) to the c-axis are shown.

The K-edge is the sudden increase in X-ray absorption of the atom at the binding energy of its inner electronic shell and is material-specific. As a result, the additional spectral information contributes to better characterization of tissues and materials of interest, indicating the future potential of this X-ray imaging modality.

A hypergraph H is k-edge-connected if λ(H) ≥ k, where 1 ≤ k ≤ δ(H) with δ(H) denoting the minimum degree of H. If λ(H) = δ(H), we say that H is maximally edge-connected.
