The BD-8, a high performance aerobatic aircraft, was developed by BedeCorp in the late 1970’s. This plane was built to rival the Curtis Pitts biplane, which was a small, very agile plane that featured a low moment of inertia around the various axes. Mr. Bede sought to achieve the same qualities and advantages, but as a monoplane.

The single-place airplane was designed by Jim Bede for competion aerobatics, featuring a Lycoming I0-360 engine, constant-speed prop, sheet metal fuselage and tail group, composite wings, and composite spring main gear. The large, slab-sided aft fuselage was desiged to enhance knife-edge performance.

Wingspan 68"; four channel; plenty of room for your radio equipment. The first one I built flew with a Tartan Twin; this one was built for a twin 40cc but was never flown.
