I developed it a bit, but it's essentially his work [ENWorld Q&A #378] Terry Kuntz was the primary creator of the Beholder, why I have no idea, except maybe he was a glutton for havng his PC punished.

2022年11月7日 · I've shown this link to the Beholder's player but he says that the Forcecage description says "a forcecage resists dispel magic", but the Beholder's Antimagic Cone is not "Dispell Magic", so wherever the Beholder points with his Antimagic Cone, all Forcecages and Walls of Force WILL be supressed. I really don't see what's wrong with this logic ...

2020年1月28日 · In 2e Planescape material and the Monster Mythology accessory, the beholder gods are listed as chaotic evil. The Great Mother has a realm in the Abyss, and Monster Mythology specifically notes her antipathy to lawful opponents. However, I can't find any reference to beholders ever being chaotic evil.

To be clear, "suppressed" in this context means that those effects disappear inside the area of effect, but aren't removed. They will return as soon as the area is left.

2015年4月30日 · Firstly, it seems that when a Beholder sleeps, only their main eye closes and the rest blink intermittently, allowing the Beholder to maintain awareness. Because Beholders are highly intelligent and it seems that levitation is their natural form of movement, it would make sense that a Beholder would be able to use its levitation while sleeping.

It's a great idea, and turns the tables on the Beholder extremely well. You might have some trouble targeting the Beholder from within the cloud yourself, but characters normally know where other creatures are during combat (the fact that the Beholder hovers may complicate this, but probably not unless the Beholder takes the Hide action).

2023年9月27日 · Contrary to your guess, though, an Overseer is not the highest CR Beholder--that title goes to the Hive Mother at CR 16. For your Hit Dice comparison, an Overseer has 14 hit dice, which makes it accessible at Caster level 14 (assuming access to Shapechange), as opposed to the Hive Mother's 20 hit dice.
