2019年7月9日 · Introduction: Bencubbinites (CB) are carbonaceous chondrites that show an unusual enrichment in metal, up to 80% in the form of FeNi metal rounded grains. Their siderophile element composition is...
CB (Bencubbinite) | Southwest Meteorite Laboratory
Bencubbin is a breccia (a rock formed of angular fragments cemented by a finer material) enclosing clasts of material from other chondritic groups, and the meteorite remains the subject of extensive ongoing research. HaH 237 has a finer texture …
Introduction: Bencubbin (found in Australia, 1930) and Weatherford (found in Oklahoma, 1926) are primitive metal-rich chondrite breccias. Recently, two metal-rich meteorites with similarities to Bencubbin and Weatherford have been found.

2018年11月8日 · Bencubbin is a primitive, polymict chondritic breccia Work in Progress ... A rock that is a mechanical mixture of different minerals and/or rock fragments (clasts). A breccia may also be distinguished by the origin of its clasts: (monomict breccia: monogenetic or monolithologic, and polymict breccia: polygenetic or polylithologic).
Introduction: Bencubbinites (CB) are carbonaceous chondrites that show an unusual enrichment in metal, up to 80% in the form of FeNi metal rounded grains. Their siderophile element composition is volatility-controlled, with a strong depletion in moderately siderophile and volatile elements (e.g. germanium) relative to CI abundances [1].

2002年2月15日 · Bencubbinite metal occurs as three types: large sulfide-bearing aggregates, homogeneous sulfide-free grains, and sulfide-free grains that are zoned in Ni and other siderophiles (Weisberg et al., 2000).
Chondrules and Isolated Grains in the Fountain Hills Bencubbinite
Chondrules and Isolated Grains in the Fountain Hills Bencubbinite The Fountain Hills (FH) meteorite was recently classified as a Bencubbin-like (CB (sub a)) chondrite, which are part of the CR clan [1]. The FH O-isotopic composition is indistinguishable from CB (sub a) chondrites.
Chronology and shock history of the Bencubbin meteorite: A …
2010年11月15日 · We have investigated the distribution and isotopic composition of nitrogen and noble gases, and the Ar–Ar chronology of the Bencubbin meteorite. Gases were extracted from different lithologies by both stepwise heating and vacuum crushing. Significant amounts of gases were found to be trapped within vesicles present in silicate clasts.
