2022年6月16日 · So far, there are NO self-driving car for consumer purchase yet. Don't fall for the advertisements from car companies and pay attention on the road at all times for your own sake. Waymo / Cruise self driving cars are RoboTaxis. You can fall asleep on their cars. But these RoboTaxis are not for sale yet.

2023年10月17日 · Except for one minor little detail - it's not self-driving Cleary FSD allows the car to navigate, make turns, handle traffic lights, etc, without user input. In other words, driving itself. "full" because, Autopilot is partial self driving. No where does the definition of "self driving" necessarily mean autonomous.

2021年7月6日 · OpenPilot can be moved from one car to another supported car. If the other car is another brand, you do need to buy the related accessory ($200). OpenPilot is a lot cheaper- $1,300. There’s no ‘subscription’ required. You don’t have range anxiety. For me in TX, I needed to drive more than 600 miles couple of times a year.

I've been told Toyota has some options & GM is currently developing one. 2023年9月12日 · Politics aside, people need to stay in control of their car at all times, unless/until we have autonomous driving so good that manufacturers are willing to assume liability for it. Any car that doesn't offer that shouldn't be described as self-driving, and manufacturers shouldn't subtly encourage people to think of it as such.

2021年8月20日 · The Udacity.com self-driving car nano degree is a 9 month mini degree taught by members of the original Waymo team, Georgia Tech professors and guests from nvidia, Mercedes, and other major companies in the field. Udacity was started by Sebastian Thrun, who also started Waymo, Aka the google car project.

It would only make sense for self-driving cars to be EVs at this rate, especially considering that the technology is still advancing (in both self-driving and EVs). By the time self-driving cars are more common place, those gas guzzler die hards will have converted to EVs as well.

2022年7月8日 · Overall I like my M3P a lot, but I agree their messaging on autonomous driving has been an absolute shitshow. See my reply to the post above for my experiences with Tesla's self-driving features. There's a lot to recommend about the car (in my opinion), but Autopilot is absolutely not on that list (again, in my opinion).
