Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc. (ΣΒΡ, also SigRho) is an American collegiate and national multicultural fraternity. [2][3] It was the first national multicultural fraternity in the United States. [2]

Chartered in 1962 in Itta Bena, Mississippi, the Beta Rho Chapter and its over 51 members remain ever-committed to our Fraternity’s international program of service, responsible citizenry, and community uplift. “Friendship is Essential to the Soul” is our Fraternity Motto, which serves to nurture the Omega Spirit.

History – Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity

Sigma Beta Rho is the premier national multicultural fraternity in the United States. Founded in 1996 on the principles of duty to society, dedication to brotherhood, and the remembrance of cultural awareness, Sigma Beta Rho has since grown to share its goals with over 2,500 men on over 45 college campuses.

Chapters have earned their place in the history of Sigma Beta Rho by the designation of a Greek letter. The Greek letter is assigned to a chapter based on the order in which they earn Chapter Status (for instance, University of Pennsylvania is our first chapter, and thus, earned the Alpha letter designation).

About Beta Rho. Beta Rho Chapter was founded on June 2, 1973 when nineteen educators from Monroe County, Michigan were initiated into membership of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Michigan State Organization, Beta Rho Chapter. Our membership comprises women teachers who are retired or actively teaching and supervising.

Annual Beta Rho Christmas Dinner and Silent Auction. Each and every year, the Beta Rho Chapter of Tri Kappa chooses deserving, outstanding students to receive the funds we have raised for Scholarship.
