2016年2月8日 · Betahistine usually takes couple days get into system but once they are you should notice improvement. I too take the 16mg tablets but only at onset of attack then they usually work within couple hours. My GP also gave me prochlorperazine maleate which have to be dissolved on gum.

I have bilateral MD and I have non allergic rhinitis. I have been on 64mg/day betahistine AND a nasal spray antihistamine + nasal spray steroid for years. The betahistine works wonderfully well. I have eliminated both my MD symptoms and my non allergic rhinitis symptoms with this combination. Below is the protocol I follow every day.

Betahistine takes at least a month to become fully effective so don't despair - my experience may help. My consultant, having confirmed the diagnosis, and noting that I was not fully controlled tripled my dose from 16mg to 48 mg three times daily, and told me if I remained attack free for 6 months I should then wean myself off.

Finally got brave enough to reduce my betahistine from 48mg x 3 times per day down to nothing by reducing 16mg per week. Over july, aug, first week sept 2016. Tinnitus got bad when i was down to nothing and I had a dizziness episode one evening that put me to bed for 3-4 hrs.
