We show that the STO-BFO interface provides a highly conductive path and improves by orders of magnitude the photoconductivity of the BFO thin film. Using thermally stimulated conductivity techniques, we unveiled the trap levels in both BFO and STO, and we show that oxygen vacancies lie at the core of the photoconductivity of the interface.
