Githyanki gish are an archetype of githyanki characters encountered throughout Baldur's Gate 3. As they are Battlemages, that blend arcane spellcasting with melee combat, gish soldiers are versatile combatants. Regular gish troops can be encountered in many places of githyanki influence. Curse a creature with your touch.

There are a couple of different ways you can build a Gish, or a Spellblade, or a Hexblade, whatever you want to call it, which I will go over later. There are two main distinctions between Gish builds, whether you want to do damage, or whether you want to be useful.

Gish Far'aag is a githyanki gish who guards the entryway to Crèche Y'llek. Anyone seeking passage into the crèche's must first convince her to let them through. A ghaik thrall is something to eradicate, not reason with. Far'aag is initially friendly to the party, but can become hostile depending on dialogue choices taken during dialogue.

Get some more spell slots and start your gish playstyle as soon as lvl3 fighter. Maybe even go 5 levels eldrich knight for extra attack, 6 levels of abjuration wizard, and one level dip in warlock to get armour of agathys and be a tanky giah fighter that medicates a lot of damage theough arcane ward and dishes out damage when being hit with ...

At the end of the day, * YOU* play it how you want. Whether it be multiclassing Fighter in the mix, or adding an extra level of paladin here, or a level of warlock there, etc. Make it how you want it to be/feel. Swords bard, by itself, is a gish build. It is capable of martial combat (either melee or ranged), and has 6th level spells by level 11, with a focus on control spells. This has item support in the Helm of Arcane Acuity and the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel. It can be further optimized with dips, but this is the core of many good gish builds.

Gish For'reth is a Githyanki who can be found at the Mountain Pass during Act One. A gish specializing in psionics, he is the primary spellcaster of the squad that searches the Wilderness in search of a powerful weapon.

Gish Umr'a'ac is a gish at Crèche Y'llek during Act One. Ren'thil was examined in the zaith'isk recently. Haven't seen him since - perhaps he got sent back to scout Moonrise. Gish Umr'a'ac can be initially found in the Crèche Y'llek Infirmary, near the bunk beds, pondering over a book.
