Our plans for Big Hook Wilderness Camps are to continually improve the resort on an ongoing basis so that our guests can experience the best fly-in fishing vacation possible in Ontario’s secluded northern wilderness.

Your trip with Big Hook Wilderness Camps begins in Red Lake, Ontario – about a five hour drive from International Falls, Minnesota. Most guests from the middle U.S. choose to drive the scenic byway between the two and have their favourite stops along the way committed to memory.

Burnt Lake is Big Hook’s most remote outpost camp and our only location beyond the boundaries of Opasquia Provincial Park. Situated right along the Ontario / Manitoba border, Burnt Lake offers not only excellent northern and walleye angling, but also tremendous perch fishing.

Southwest Lake outpost is set on Big Hook’s second biggest body of water and is second to none as far as sheer numbers of fish are concerned. Guests often report catches in the thousands and some bring counters to prove it.

At the hub of Big Hook Wilderness Camps is Central Lake, providing its guests with continuous electricity generated by three windmills and eighteen solar panels. At our base camp you will find a few additional amenities including wi-fi internet access, a sauna, stand-up paddleboards, canoes, and guide service.
