2024年4月5日 · Heavier than an average gorilla and similar in length to a Komodo dragon, Hayden’s bone-crushing dog (Epicyon haydeni) was the largest dog species ever. The colossal canine existed for about 15 million years during the mid-late Miocene epoch, going extinct 5.3 million years ago.

Epicyon haydeni is the largest known canid of all time, with the type species reaching 2.4 m (7.9 ft) in length, 90 cm (35 in) in shoulder height and approximately 100–125 kg (220–276 lb) in body mass.

Aicama Zorba of La-Susa or Zorba (26 September 1981 – 1992) was a male Old English Mastiff who was recognized by Guinness World Records as the heaviest and longest dog in the world.

The largest wild dog of all time was Hayden’s bone-crushing dog (Epicyon haydeni). Estimated to weigh up to 170 kg (374.8 lb), it existed for 15.3 million years during the mid-late Miocene epoch in North America. Records change on a daily basis and are not immediately published online.
