I'd wager binaural audio is similar, where you'll end up with stuff processed locally at heschl's gyrus, but then there'll be certain kinds of stimuli which shift to other parts of the temporal lobe and parietal cortex ...

Binaural Beats focus on the brain perceiving the difference of HZ's between two different tones that are set at a different frequency. Binaural Beats makes the brain create the illusion that a third tone is being present, this being the difference in HZ's between two tones. I noticed that this is only stated as a perception that the brain creates.
What is the difference in Binaural audio and normal audio?
Binaural audio is recorded usually with a dummy head and microphones mounted in each ear canal, so the resulting sound can be creepily realistic if done properly. Unless the sounds in the game were recorded in this fashion, then they are using some form of digital manipulation to create a pseudo Binaural, probably with sketchy results.
