The Master Plan set out a framework for the sustainable development of Birmingham Airport up to 2030. It illustrated how the Airport intended to meet the regional demand for air travel over the plan period of 23 years.

The Master Plan outlines how the airport will develop its site to handle the increase in passenger numbers up to the year 2033. It includes an investment of half a billion pounds that will transform the terminal and customer experience, whilst creating jobs for 34,000 people and generating over £2 billion regional economic benefit.

The Airport Master Plan is the primary document used at the airport for long-range planning. It provides a framework needed to guide future development that will cost-effectively satisfy aviation demand while considering potential environmental and socio-economic impacts.

Master Plan 2018. The main focus of the Master Plan is on the 15 years to 2033 when we expect to be handing around 18 million passengers. To meet this rising demand, we plan to invest around 500 million to expand and improve the Airport, to transform the experience for our passengers and to improve the efficiency for our Airlines and partners.
