Bishoy of Scetis (Coptic: Ⲁⲃⲃⲁ Ⲡⲓϣⲱⲓ Abba Pišoi; Greek: Ὅσιος Παΐσιος ὁ Μέγας; 320 – 417 AD [1]), known in the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria as the Star of the Desert and the Beloved of our Good Savior, was a Coptic Desert Father.

St. Bishoy (320-417 A.D.), the great Egyptian desert father who saw our Lord Jesus Christ and whose incorrupt body is preserved to this day at the Coptic Orthodox monastery bearing his name at Wadi El-Natroun, Egypt, was known for his love, meekness, simplicity, and his extremely ascetic and prayerful life.

Though similar, the story of Saint Bishoy is sometimes told with varying details. However, in general, we believe that Saint Bishoy was born in the Egyptian Nile Delta in 320 AD.
