Juniper BNG CUPS Documentation - Juniper Networks
Perform initial configuration, monitor and use Juniper BNG CUPS software. Juniper BNG CUPS is a cloud application that separates the Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) control plane components from the native Junos OS. Where the BNG control plane functionality runs on the cloud application and the BNG user plane functionality runs in Junos OS.
Juniper BNG CUPS Overview
A new architecture, called Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS) separates the control plane and user plane functions into different network elements. The control plane and user planes are tethered through a set of defined open interfaces. These interfaces are used for exchanging states and for relaying control packets between the planes.

BNG CUPS
BNG CONTROL AND USER PLANE SEPARATION (CUPS) OVERVIEW 12 A cloud deployed management function that controls and monitors multiple BNG UPs • Cloud deployed control and management plane (1 CP: Nx UPs) • Centralized redundant, cloud deployed subscriber database • Standards CP-to-UP protocol and management information model –PFCP extensions
This guide describes the Nokia SR OS User Plane Function (UPF) in a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS) system. The BNG CUPS UPF is based on the fundamentals of the BNG and reuses fundamental QoS and forwarding concepts, while moving the control plane handling to the BNG CUPS Control Plane Function (CPF).

Introduction to CUPS
2024年10月31日 · CUPS is an architecture that gains popularity in the mobile core. The architecture was first adopted in the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile core and later became the standard architecture for the 5G core. In 2019, BBF began a BNG CUPS project and subsequently standardized the BNG CUPS architecture in TR-459, TR-459.2, and TR-459.3.
Broadband Network with Control User Plane Separation I Nokia
2023年8月22日 · In May this year, the Broadband Forum published the second issue of the TR-459 BNG CUPS specification with further improvements in resiliency, scalability and deployment times. The Nokia Multi-Access Gateway implements the disaggregated BNG architecture with CUPS and we are already seeing the first large scale commercial deployments.
BNG CUPS Concept | VAS Experts Blog
2023年5月5日 · Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS) is a technology that separates control and user planes in communication networks. This means that network management and data transfer occur on different physical and logical elements, which increases the flexibility and scalability of the network.
