Boa sigma, known commonly as the Mexican west coast boa constrictor, is a species of snake in the family Boidae. The species is endemic to western Mexico.

Tarahumara boas are without a doubt in my top two of favorite snakes to keep and breed. They have great temperament, a compact size, and a beautiful pattern rich with pink and mocha tones.

Boa sigma is native to the Pacific coast of Mexico, west of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. It used to be considered an outdated classification, but has since been resurrected as its own species in Phylogeographic and population genetic analyses reveal multiple species of Boa and independent origins of insular dwarfism by Daren C. Card et al.

2014年7月1日 · An in-depth look at boa constrictor genetics has revealed some interesting results, including the existence of a third species found along the Pacific coast of Mexico, west of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec: Boa sigma.
