DYS serves youth between the ages of 12-21 who have been adjudicated delinquent, adjudicated as a youthful offender, or placed in DYS’ overnight arrest beds and/or detention programs while awaiting a future court date.

Services for DYS-involved youth. DYS provides different types of placements for detained and committed youth, including secure residential facilities and foster care. DYS offers educational, medical, and clinical services for youth. Detained youth placed in secure facilities also receive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) twice a week.
