It's not like you are soaking cases in pure ammonia for days at a time ... rather a few hours in a tumbler with a half ounce of Brasso. According to the MSDS, Brasso contains 2-3% ammonia.

2014年2月3日 · Update. The only polish that I could find was Mothers and I searched every where. Walmart, Auto Parts, Marine Dealers, Coin Shops, Jewelry Shops, what a pain. I'm impressed with the results and wish I could post pictures. It was a lot easier than polishing brass with Brasso and it left a protective finish that is said to last for six months.

2009年4月11日 · I used Brasso to remove light scratches on my stainless steel pistols. Works great. The deeper scratches you may have to use very fine 1000 grit or higher sandpaper made for stainless, then use Brasso with felt cloth. Don't get it in your moving parts as it will cause removing metal you don't want. Just my 2 cents.

2013年1月30日 · I use a Dremel with a felt polishing tip and jewelers polishing compound on all 3 of my Marks. Polish the feed ramp, the sear face and the sear notch area of the hammer mirror smooth ( without removing any metal--that's why the jewelers compound), and you'll be amazed at the difference in performance.

2024年4月26日 · Good ol' Brasso does a nice job of shining up brass parts like a grip frame. Of course a few weeks later, it has developed patina and discolored, unless you use Renaissance Wax, which really works great to prevent verdigris on brass.

2008年2月4日 · I've decided to manually lap the lands of the bore of my .357 GP100. It's pretty rough looking in there, in certain areas, and examination of recovered jacketed bullets shows some snagging and tearing of the jacket. Fouling in 2-3 small areas seems to build up fast, and is VERY difficult to remove, even with ammonia and BRASSO.

2017年1月25日 · Does NuFinish get dark tarnish to come off of brass? When I tumble in corncob medium and use the non-ammonia brass polish that's intended for vibrating tumblers, brass gets shiny, but the dark spots don't go away. A little Brasso makes them look like new, but polishing cases one at a time takes a long time.

2014年9月13日 · I highly suggest you smooth out the barrel with Brasso or JB Bore bright before you send it back. Smoothing the barrel with the Brasso or JB Bore bright does more than clean it, it takes the rough machine marks out and eliminates any built up copper. Then reshoot the rifle. It's my understanding 3.5 inches with any new Mini is average. kwg

2012年12月10日 · The trigger pull on my 642 was rating at 15lbs by my gunsmith. I feel that is unacceptable, if you consider that the Taurus M380 mini revolver firing .380acp has a trigger pull slightly heavier (which they claim is needed for firing rimless cartridges), and everyone who reviewed this gun complained about the heavy trigger pull.
