The Ferret armoured car, also commonly called the Ferret scout car, is a British armoured fighting vehicle designed and built for reconnaissance purposes. The Ferret was produced between 1952 and 1971 by the UK company Daimler.

When the British Army published a specification for a new light recce and liaison armored vehicle, Daimler was quickly chosen due to the outstanding success of its Dingo scout car, widely produced and used throughout the war. Based on this experience, the Ferret was a straightforward extrapolation, duly modernized of the Dingo.
