The Papakura Stream a 63 km long stretch of water (that’s longer than the Milford Track!) that winds its way from Brookby in the east to the Manakau Harbour in the west. Over its 63 km journey to the harbour, it has a catchment area of 4,100 hectares.

This project at Brookby Wildlife Habitat is planting past pastureland with 16,000 native grasses, shrubs and trees to filter contaminants from the water, provide shade and habitat and increase biodiversity in the catchment.
