2023年9月23日 · Goodbye might be followed with further statements (“for now I will say goodbye but I am looking forward to seeing you next weekend!” Or “goodbye, drive safe, take care!”) whereas buh-bye is associated more strongly with a true conclusion to the conversation. One is much less likely to incorporate it into the middle of a sentence.
