The Busu River is a river located near Wagang, Lae in Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea. [2] It is the fastest-flowing river in Papua New Guinea [3] and the sixth-fastest in the world. [citation needed]

THE Busu Bridge at the headwaters of the Busu River in Nawaeb district of Morobe Province has collapsed, affecting flow of government services to more than 30,000 people. Between K500,000 and K1 million would be needed to rehabilitate the bridge, money the Department of Works does not have due to funding constraints.

On Saturday 7th October 2023, Busu Bridge at Boana Station Road collapsed leaving access to the District Administrative Headquarters in limbo with several portions of the Erap, Wain Road facing destruction due to landslips and flood.

The Busu bridge leading to Boana Station in Nawaeb district was destroyed by the raging river during a heavy rainfall in October 2016. Governor Kelly Naru responded and within 4 weeks the bridge was completed with funding of K1.8M from the provincial government.
