Box blight (Cylindrocladium buxicola) is a fungal disease that affects box (Buxus) plants. It first appeared in Britain in 1998 and is worst in warm, humid conditions. Box blight causes leaf browning and stem dieback. Box hedges develop unsightly straw-coloured bare patches, which are especially noticeable on box topiary and parterres.
