The Blohm & Voss BV 141 (originally the Ha 141) [4] was an unorthodox tactical reconnaissance aircraft developed by the German aircraft manufacturer Blohm & Voss. It was notable for its uncommon structural asymmetry.

Bv 141 V1, actually the second produced aircraft, was used to test the aircraft’s general flight performance. The V3 made its first test flight on 5th October 1938 and was used mainly to test the BMW 132N engine. Die Ha/BV 141 war ohne Zweifel einer der seltsamsten Entwürfe der Luftfahrtgeschichte. Dabei hatten diese Flugzeuge recht annehmbare Flugeigenschaften, die auch Ernst Udet, den Chef des Technischen Amtes, sehr beeindruckten. Dr.-Ing. Vogt hatte die ungewöhnliche Lösung gewählt, um damit eine Forderung des RLM von 1937 weitestgehend zu erfüllen.

Der eigentliche zweite Prototyp erhielt dafür die Bezeichnung BV 141 V1. Diese Maschine trug die Kennung D-OTTO und startete am 11. Oktober 1938 zum Jungfernflug. Für die Maschine war eine Vollsichtkanzel mit schwenkbaren Waffenständen zur rückwärtigen Verteidigung und starren Angriffswaffen nach vorn vorgesehen.
