Nov 22, 2013 · Depends on condition I have a c26 and I love it. I am pairing it with a 2105 when it arrives this weekend. They are a good preamp, but can have their issues. Check the volume/power switch for operation. They seem to be a weak link from what I have heard. One thing I do like is the vintage beauty of my C26. Good luck with the purchase.:thmbsp: J.T.

Jan 22, 2012 · The C27 and C29 are Mac engineerings updates to the C26 and C28. By studying their schematics we can see what Mac did to improve them we can then learn things that we can do to update all the units from the earlier 70s.

Aug 8, 2017 · regulated supply was replaced with a 220µF/35V capacitor; the original carbon composition power resistors, 1.5kohm/2W and 8.2kohm/0.5W, were replaced with 1.5kohm/3W and 8.25kohm/1W metal film types, respectively. Looks like a Sansui AU999 inside!! Here are some pictures of the restored/upgraded C26 Driver and Power Supply boards.

Mar 31, 2023 · Just picked up a Mcintosh C26 from Craigslist. My setup now includes the Mcintosh preamplifier. Decware 2watt tube amplifier, a Bluesound music streamer, And Forte ii speakers. This my first Mac and it pairs well with Decware. All I can say is WOW!!!
