Integrin alpha 6 - Wikipedia
Integrin alpha-6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ITGA6 gene. The ITGA6 protein product is the integrin alpha chain alpha 6. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. A given chain may combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins.

2017年8月1日 · Among the diverse groups of cell surface proteins used for these purposes, integrin α6, also known as CD49f, may be the only biomarker commonly found in more than 30 different populations of stem cells, including some cancer stem cells.

More recently, further evidence that integrin α6 (CD49f) plays a key role in human HSC function was demonstrated by showing that single Lin − /CD34 + /Cd38 − /CD45RA − /Thy + /Rho low /CD49f + cells engrafted in femur BM give rise to long-term multilineage systemic grafts.
CD49f Is a Novel Marker of Functional and Reactive Human iPSC …
2020年8月5日 · Here we show that CD49f is a novel marker for human astrocytes, expressed in fetal and adult brains from healthy and diseased individuals. CD49f can be used to purify fetal astrocytes and human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived astrocytes.
Regulation and Functions of α6-Integrin (CD49f) in Cancer Biology
Here, we describe the current understanding of the α6-integrin subunit (ITGA6, also known as CD49f and/or VLA6; encoded by the gene itga6) in cancer cells. The roles of ITGA6 in cell adhesion, stemness, metastasis, angiogenesis, and drug resistance, and as a diagnostic biomarker, are discussed.
Evaluation of CD49f as a novel surface marker to identify …
CD49f, also known as integrin α6, is a transmembrane protein that mediates cell‐cell and cell‐extracellular matrix adhesion. 20 It is expressed on the surface of a number of stem cells, and many studies have shown that CD49f positive stem cells possess stronger ‘stemness’. 21 For example, researchers found that CD49f could be used as a ...
Differential Expression of CD49f Discriminates the …
2019年11月13日 · The persistent CD49f expression during EHT suggests that the fates of HSCs and HSC-independent HPCs are pre-defined in their parental HECs. Combining our in vivo data, the differential expression of CD49f also provide a possible regulatory mechanism for the multi-wave hematopoiesis.

4 天之前 · In cervical carcinogenesis, CD49f is assumed as a marker of cervical cancer stem cells potentially linked with CD133 and SOX2 expression and preferentially targeted by high-risk HPVs . CD49f expression was found at the invasive front of cervical cancer spheroids and cervical cancer tissues associated with cancer metastasis .
CD49f enhances multipotency and maintains stemness through …
CD49f (integrin subunit α6) regulates signaling pathways in a variety of cellular activities. However, the role of CD49f in regulating the differentiation and pluripotency of stem cells has not been fully investigated.
Here we show that CD49f is a novel marker for human astrocytes, expressed in fetal and adult brains from healthy and diseased individuals. CD49f can be used to purify fetal astrocytes and human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived astrocytes.
