Oct 27, 2017 · I use to own the CEC TL5 Belt Drive CD Transport and I highly recommend it to you. Only problem is I have never heard the Cambridge Audio CXC Transport so I can't say for sure that the CEC will sound better. Since the CEC is three times as expensive as the Cambridge and because the CEC is belt driven I would think the CEC would sound better.

Aug 2, 2016 · The TL5 has already surpassed the Audiolab in pretty much every aspect. The Audiolab was (is) a really good transport, that I enjoyed very much. The TL5 is like putting newer, more transparent, glass in a window that I already thought was really clear.

Jun 21, 2022 · Also the CEC's are belt driven. Not sure if that's good or bad, or makes little difference? I now use a CEC-TL5, and previously used a SimAudio Moon 260t. I really don't know if the belt drive makes a difference, but the CEC also employs a weighted disc placed on top the CDs, and I believe that it is a positive feature.

Sep 4, 2024 · I own the CEC TL5 and I am very pleased with it, but I have never compared it to any of the others. I made my decision based on the fact that it is a proven design with US service and not so big and heavy. The Jays Cd3 is 50 pounds. Not for me. Just as an aside, I looked at your system and you will have a tough time beating that CDS2/XPS.

Sep 4, 2024 · @no_regrets - don’t have the TL2, but TL5 estimates the belt life as 5 years and Atelier13 threw in a spare at no charge. The TL5 has an easily replaceable belt, but I don’t know if the TL2 is the same. I suggest you call Constantin at Atelier13 and he can answer your questions. The price of a new belt for the TL5 is $100.

Apr 8, 2022 · I see the CEC TL5 CD Transport for sale online but they show a 100 volt power rating. Odd power voltages are new to me. Would I need a different power cord for USA use? Does it then require an AC power converter? So confused... Just want to play an extensive cd collection, and thought about going one step up from the Audiolab 6000 CDT...

Oct 15, 2023 · A friend had the CEC TL2 for some years and I was very familiar with it. No direct comparison with my RS2T. Upper level CEC transports provide high quality sound presentation. The RS2T is exceptionally resolved and yet very natural sounding. The particular DAC utilized imparts on the overall sound unquestionably.

Jan 11, 2024 · Hi, I just received my CEC TL5 CD transport, I noticed the power cord that come with is IEC C13 on one end and the other end is US 2-prong. Shouldn't the power cable come with 3-prong as IEC C13 configuration is 3-wire (live, neutral and earth) ?
