The CEM3340 VCO chip has been re-released as the Rev.G. It has also been cloned by CoolAudio as the V3340 and by Alfa as the AS3340. Any of these chips will work correctly in the designs above. We have all three chips available in the shop.

2024年8月18日 · The CEM3340 and CEM3345 are a self contained VCO, originally produced by Curtis Electromusic Specialties. With both exponential and linear control inputs and up to four output waveforms: triangle, sawtooth, square, and pulse with voltage controllable pulse width. It has full temperature compensation making it extremely stable.

This is the re-release version of the famous CEM3340 voltage-controlled oscillator. It provides Ramp, Pulse/Square, and Triangle outputs, has inputs for oscillator sync, is temperature compensated and stable, and provides excellent 1V/Oct tracking.

The CEM3340 is a legendary voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) integrated circuit developed by Curtis Electromusic Specialties in the late 1970s. It has been widely used in classic analog synthesizers, including the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 (starting from Rev.3), Roland Jupiter-6, Roland SH101, Moog Memorymoog and others.

The Curtis CEM3340 VCO has been reissued by Curtis Electromusic. Note the Rev G in the image. That is the new chip. This is the ONLY authorized remake of the original trademarked by CEM.

This VCO is based on the Aries AR-338 PMS VCO, which features phase modulated sync and a pan-pulse output. The AR-338 used a SSM2030, so it was not too hard to modify the sub-sections to suit the CEM3340.
