ATSF CF7 rebuilt from F3A, F7A, and F9A power: master power roster with specifications and references

The 44C's passenger hauling career may not have been over just yet, but time was growing short. It would not be among the F's leased to Amtrak at startup, but instead became an early participant in CF7 program. It emerged from the Cleburne shops as the eleventh CF7, #2439, in April 1971.

In the Santa Fe yard. 258 was rebuilt to CF7 2439 in Sept 77. A different but likable photo. Priceless! Some of my earliest visual RR memories involve SFe F-units in my Grandma's home-town of Abilene, KS. I'll never get tired of seeing stuff like this. 2017年2月8日 · ATSF acquired 18 Amtrak "500" & "600" series SDP40Fs in 1984. San Bernadino shops rebuilt the ex-Amtrak passenger units into SDF40-2 freight power, in blue & yellow scheme.
