The CIS Critical Security Controls (CIS Controls) are a prioritized set of CIS Safeguards to defend against the most prevalent cyber attacks against systems and networks. They are mapped to and referenced by multiple legal, regulatory, and policy frameworks.

V7.1 update. • Reassess the prioritization scheme for the CIS Controls down to the Sub-Controls level, given the evolving threat landscape and resource constraints; • Fix minor typos and errors; • Enhance the clarity and readability of the CIS Controls and Sub-Controls; and
