In this process, the manufacturer completely strips down or disassembles a vehicle at the origin and reassembles it in another country.

A knock-down kit (also knockdown kit, knocked-down kit, or simply knockdown or KD) is a collection of parts required to assemble a product. The parts are typically manufactured in one country or region, and then exported to another country or region for final assembly.

The destination plant finishes the assembly and undergo quality inspections and testing before the sale. By using SKD kits, the company can concentrate the bulk of its production process in fewer factories.

These are referred to as Semi Knocked Down (SKD) or Completely Knocked Down (CKD) goods. In these cases, the goods are being supplied under the cover of a single invoice but more than one vehicle is used for the transport of such vehicles.
