One of the coolest things I've ever seen in Bristol, 8646 was leading NS 111. A VERY rare unpatched CNW Dash-9 rounds the curve through Lindale, GA. This is train QNLCH2 20 (Manifest from North Little Rock, AR to Clearing, IL [Chicago]). It arrived at 00:25 (12:25 A.M.).

CNW 8646 leading NS 328 : Description: Rare unpatched CNW Dash-9 leads NS 328 through the junction at Hamilton West. NS 327/238 were dedicated auto parts trains for Ford in Talbotville, ON. Reliable sources on local lists have reported the the last two CNW-painted engines, 8676 and 8701, have been pulled from storage at the Illinois Railway Museum. Sadly, both appear to be on their way to North Little Rock for new UP yellow/gray paint. It was fun while it lasted. Was hoping one of the 2 would be saved, donated to IRM.

CNW 8646 and 8701 were the last unpatched CNW locomotives on the UP roster which railfans referred to them as the "CNW twins". In 2017 after years of surviving untouched they were repainted and renumbered to 9750 (ex 8646) and 9805 (ex 8701) respectively. 9750 is in storage as of 2020 while 9805 is active and was rebuilt by GE/Wabtec into a C44ACM.
