1. Launch CS:GO through Steam, don't use a shortcut. 2. Run a check for the game's cache integrity (right-click > Properties > Local Files > Verify Intergrity of Game Cache...). Recently, i have been having some problems starting CS-GO. Whenever, i start the CS-GO from steam , it starts to check Microsoft-DirecctX for couple of minutes and after when it is done, CS-GO launches.

I'm having major issues with the game since about a year ago - I am unable to play cs:go competitive as the game will crash to desktop almost every single time during the map load. It is extremely rare that it will actually let me into the match. Other game modes work fine. I also have the same issue with l4d2 so it seems to be related to the source engine.
