To most 8881 is just another SD40-2 but in fact its actually one of the oldest engines, (not road slug) operating on CSX. It was built in Feb 1966 as Pennsylvania Railroad #6073 then it became PC 6073 after the Conrail Merger it was renumbered as CR 6326, It was later rebuilt in the mid 90's as SD40-2R CR 6991.

2023年10月27日 · But they're still out there, and today caught CSX SD40-2R 8881, probably heading towards Neville Island as part of a light power move. This is one of CSX's oldest engines, built as long ago as Feb 1966 for the Pennsylvania as a straight SD40, towards the end of the PRR's existence.
