The EMD SD75M and EMD SD75I are a series of similar diesel-electric locomotives produced by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between 1994 and 1996. The series is an improvement and extension to the EMD SD70 series, which further is an extension to the EMD SD60.

2024年12月16日 · The primary differences in the two SD75 designs was with the cab itself. The EMD SD75M featured the wide, safety cab design (thus the "M" designation) while the SD75I featured the isolated cab (also known as the "Whisper Cab" by EMD).

2009年7月26日 · The Electromotive Division SD75M is a 6 axle, 4,300 (or 4,500) HP diesel-electric locomotive built by EMD in 1994. The unit was largely built as a response to GE's 9-44CW model. EMD took the standard 4,000 HP 710 engine used in the SD70's and raised the output to 4,300 HP, in order to more closely compete with the 4,400 HP Dash 9.

These SD75Ms were the last new locomotives for the Santa Fe Railway. The SD75Ms were built primarily to meet special requests from Santa Fe/BNSF and boasted slightly more power than the SD70Ms, with horsepower ratings ranging from 4,300 hp (3,200 kW) to 4,500 hp.

2013年1月24日 · Probably mostly everybody knows this but it's news to me! What I am hearing is that BNSF is bringing back the EMD SD75M's and SD75I's! Which is nice to see!! I have seen some now on the oil trains through New York state on the CSX line!! -Scott
