There are no tears or holes in the boot. you can see where the grease was flung and cooled and piled up. A well documented problem that should have a heat shield or something.

2019年1月14日 · My rig is a 2000 with 235K on the clock, new to me in December 2018. The passenger side CV axle is an aftermarket replacement, which I believe is about 1-1/2 to 2 years old. It is not leaking grease. Tires are Toyo Open Country CTs, 285/75-16. Shocks are Monroe something-or-other (OEM replacement) that the P.O. had put on about 3 years ago.
