USS Randolph (CV/CVA/CVS-15) was one of 24 Essex -class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy. The second US Navy ship to bear the name, she was named for Founding Father Peyton Randolph, president of the First Continental Congress. [1] .

3 天之前 · The Kohler CV15/CV15S is a 426 cc (26.0 cu·in) single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke internal combustion gasoline engine from the Command PRO series, manufactured by Kohler Co. The Kohler CV15 engine has an OHV (overhead valve) design, an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, vertical PTO-shaft, full-pressurized lubrication system.

Aircraft carriers are given the designation of "CV" by the US Navy. The Randolph was the fifteenth carrier ordered. Consequently her hull number was CV-15. She was built by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Virginia, and commissioned on October 9, 1944.

USS Randolph (CV-15) Randolph was commissioned in October of 1944 and was built at Newport News, Virginia. The ship was a 27,000-ton aircraft carrier in the Ticonderoga class. The ship began combat in February of 1945. The mission supported the invasion of Iwo Jima and was to attack targets in Japanese islands and the Bonins.
