2020年3月1日 · I own two CVA Hunters, one in 450 Bushmaster (in my opinion it is a modern 45-70) and a 20 gauge rifled slug gun. I also own an H&R Handi-rifle in 45-70 so I am familiar with that caliber. I think it would be hard to go wrong with either the 450 or 45-70, they both do a fine job (guess I just like to make big holes in stuff).

2016年3月28日 · A friend just got a CVA Scout in 45-70. Gun shop told him it could take Ruger #1 loads - I'm calling shenanigans. I'm thinkin lever loads are all it can take. This thing barely weighs 6 pounds, my Marlin Cowboy weighs 8 ish and can be a handful ! Nothing on CVA site. Anyone have any info on Scout strength ? Thanks

2023年4月29日 · I bought a CVA scout rifle in 45-70 for this years deer hunting in Illinois. I did a little trading and came up with 200rds of brass and some 520 gr "Money" bullets. I don't have any molds for a .459 bullet yet but I'm sure a few will follow. I did purchase some 300 gr. FP coated bullets to try out.

2022年1月20日 · Two years ago I used my Rugged Obsidian 45 Suppressor on my CVA Scout 45-70 deer hunting. I was shooting a 405gn cast powder coated bullet with a small charge of Red Dot. 2023年12月21日 · Shooting the CVA single shot 45-70 I loaded up some 540 grain RN plain base bullets and sent them over the chronograph..... 1520 fps., not bad for a big chunk of lead. It shoots very accurately with both the 540 plain base and the 440 gas checked bullets.

2024年2月4日 · My new Takedown CVA 45-70 likes heavy cast slugs, the 540 RN grain plain base bullets shot just under 1400 fps over the chrony today, the gc 440 grainers shot 1627 fps. The first shot with the 540's on a target at 75 yds was a bullseye, it was not a long distance shot but I was not expecting a bullseye first shot.
