2007年11月28日 · The Capella has, to me, more secondary and primary stability, with a more progressive edge. The Shadow is easier to get on edge, and the secondary firms up very quickly once on edge. The cockpit on the Capella is quite a bit bigger, and the opening uses a large skirt, the Shadow a medium. The Shadow feels more secure and faster downwind.

2010年3月17日 · The Capella 163 fit well, I think it has a little less room in the cockpit than the Tempest. That concerns me a little in that I like to paddle into December, with a drysuit and fleece pants, but I think it would still be do-able. I think there is a little less room in the foot box of the Capella than the Tempest.

2011年3月11日 · The Capella 161 hull profile across the cockpit area is going to be more similar to the 167. The 163 and the 173 have more of a shallow v hull. The more rounded and the more v’d hull are going to feel different, obviously.

2007年8月20日 · I had one of the early Capellas before they came out with the current three - 161, 163 and 169. mine was just Capella, but like the 169. Apear to be similar hulls tuned in length and volume for 3 distinct weight ranges. It is for large paddlers. My wife felt swallowed by it, but her 161 is just made for her 5-5 120ish frame.

2011年9月19日 · I happened to peruse the P&H website today and noted there is no mention of the Corelite (polyethylene)160 and 166 models. The four composite Capellas are described, but not the 160 and 166. I wonder if these popular kayaks have been discontinued.

2008年1月18日 · Capella 173 Not your size, but FYI I heard last summer that they were tweaking the Capella 173 along the lines of what they did with the 161. I spent two days in the 161 in the Gulf of Maine. Aside from the seat needing to be flattened out a bit for my comfort (I have an unusual response to their seat), the boat was a great all-around performer.
