It is the Capo Ferrato headland, a protected reserve from which one can experience the sea in its exquisite simplicity. The small mountain can be explored thanks to a trekking route where you can enjoy not only unspoilt nature, but also the remains of prehistoric civilisations such as the ancient tombs known as domus de Janas .

From Monte Ferru standing over it, the discovery of the Capo Ferrato promontory starts at the top. Climbing the mountain is an easy trek across the typical Sardinian Mediterranean landscape, inhabited since prehistoric times. Along the way, you will encounter sheepfolds, domus de Janas and nuraghi in the scrub.

the capo ferrato forms the northern part of the costa rei. there is a small sandy beach and a rocky coast section, which is interrupted by large rocks. when the ocean is calm it is a perfect place for snorkeling. during the week this area is very lonely and the visitor has the possibility to let dangle the soul. only some fishermen hang around ...

Capo Ferrato è un capo e promontorio della costa orientale della Sardegna, che si protende nel Mar Tirreno. Amministrativamente è una frazione del comune di Muravera , nella provincia del Sud Sardegna .

Capo Ferrato contains the oldest exposed rocks (~5.3 to 4.9 Ma) of the Plio-Quaternary volcanic cycle in Sardinia. It is a small volcano constructed over the Hercynian basement by emplacement of a few lava flows, dykes, and dome. Rock composition ranges from mugearite to trachyte, with a mildly alkaline affinity.
