1956 was the very first appearance of the Caravel model nameplate. Early models were exact in structure and layout to a 1955-1957 “Bubble” (with no nameplate), but had a “C” after the serial number. In subsequent years these models were often called 18 footers.

Mar 15, 2023 · For my money the $10k extra for the Caravel would have been well worth it. Foremost for us, the AC in the Bambi is very loud (hard to have a conversation) so with the ducted it won't be nearly as annoying. Overall, the Caravel climate control system is much better (first thing I did was to replace the crappy Dometic thermostat).

Jan 18, 2024 · Buy the Caravel almost always over the Bambi. All of the upgrades you'll need to do to make the Bambi a decent option for boondocking and you'll be adding almost exactly what the Caravel is pre-equipped with. And the quality and capability of many of the systems, fixtures, and so on is far superior.

Jan 7, 2020 · We also took a delivery of 2020 Caravel 19CB in August from a dealership in Oregon. There are 2 light switch just above battery disconnect, and wondering the function of the left switch. The right one control the ceiling lights but I still can't figure out the left switch.

Nov 16, 2020 · In my Caravel 16, it seems the furnace just blows out into the main cabin underneath the bed. The heat pump is ducted to the ceiling vents. Jan 17, 2025 · We have not had issue with the Caravel but are retiring soon and would like to go on longer trips out West and to Canada in near future. We got the 300 W Solar package with Lion Batteries and currently have Genconnex RV2 package 2kw 120VAC-30A propane system.

Nov 6, 2019 · My Caravel has the JL audio head unit. My replacement TV has HDMI ARC, which is the port I used to connect the existing HDMI cable. I haven't pulled anything out the kitchen cabinet (where the Sony Blu-ray and JL audio head unit live) yet.

Oct 26, 2021 · Hi, I cannot find the front low point valves in my 2021 22FB Caravel. If I understand the manual correctly, they should be close to the tankless water-heater under the bed. Am I looking at the wrong place? All I see is two pipes connecting to water heater. I've found the rear ones under the closet. Thanks John

Jul 29, 2022 · We have a 2020 Caravel 20fb and I did a battery upgrade last year. After searching for the controller unsuccessfully, for a while, I found it when I opened the 12v Distribution box under the bed. It is very small (1/2 a pack of cigarettes) and is connected to positive wire from the panel(s). Just throw it away as it is worthless.
