Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless gas produced by incomplete combustion of carbonaceous material. CO poisoning may be acute or chronic. Carbon monoxide has ~210 times the affinity for haemoglobin than oxygen. Binding therefore renders haemoglobin oxygen carrying capacity and delivery to the tissues.

CO can threaten men's life by several paths especially cardiac complications, which can mimic other cardiac problems such as myocardial infarction. The objective of this study was to determine ECG findings and serum troponin I levels in CO poisoned patients.
