2012年7月10日 · The only way to handle choppy or rough water in a Carolina Skiff is to trim all the way down and go very slow - thanks to the flat bottom they will hold plane at like 10 or 12 mph and that is as fast as you want to go - you will get there eventually and in one piece.

2022年10月5日 · The problem is if water seeps in from screw hulls used to attach consoles , battery holders, fuel tanks, etc. there is no way to drain that water out because of those inner floor dividers. The most common way it is "fixed" is to drill and install garboard drains as mentioned .

I had an 18 JVX with a 75 Yamaha 4 stroke. I loved that boat. It was perfect for two guys to fish out of and I had it in plenty of rough water. That being said , you cannot expect it to perform like a different style hull in choppy conditions. You learn how to drive it …

2001年6月11日 · I like the CC models personally and have been in a few of them in rough water. You will get wet, and its a bone jarring ride in the rough, but because of their design, they feel pretty stable. I wouldn't venture far offshore, but if the winds kick up along the coast, you should be alright.<br />Nav.

2015年7月27日 · Fantastic ride and handling on smooth waters. Spartan interior is not comfy for those that need comforts. Very little storage for it's size. The flat bottom will pound the hell out of you in rough/choppy water. Choppy water also makes for wet ride because they are known to "spit" spray out in front of the boat and then you drive right into it.
